Copywriting Tip 2. Create a Unique Selling Proposition

Posted on | November 21, 2009 | 1 Comment

Don’t forget to include a Unique Selling Proposition in your web content and other promotional collateral. If you’re trying to promote or sell anything, you’ll want your USP to tell readers clearly and concisely why they need to go to you today.

Some examples of good USP’s:

Olay: “You get younger-looking skin”
Head & Shoulders: “You get rid of dandruff”
FedEx: “When your package absolutely, positively has to get there overnight”

What’s your USP? Feel free to leave a comment with the name and USP of your company!

USP contributed by my good friend and Left Right Minds founder Shane Birley, presumably for a new startup, Murder Inc.(?)

“Buy my product or i will break your legs.”

    Can’t argue with that. :-)
